Exploited Children’s Help Organization (ECHO)

Exploited Children’s Help Organization (ECHO) is a volunteer-based non-profit agency that is an important partner of the Louisville Metro Police Department and the Jefferson County Courts.  We have been dedicated to reducing the incidence and impact of child abuse and exploitation since 1983. We are in need of volunteers of all kind! Some of our rewarding volunteer opportunities include:  Teaching the Importance of Personal Safety (TIPS) program presenter to kids and adults, Family Court Playroom monitor to be there for children whose parents are in family court, Graphic Design Team, and a Web Designer to help us through a web site make-over!  For more information, please contact us at (502) 636-3670 or visit our website at www.echolou.org

Volunteers of America

Established in 1896, Volunteers of America of Kentucky is one of the region’s oldest, largest and most diverse human service organizations. Today, Volunteers of America of Kentucky provides shelter for families who are homeless; residential substance abuse treatment; housing for seniors with low-incomes, people with mental illness, and women with disabilities; eviction prevention; employment-focused programs for veterans; care coordination for people with HIV/AIDS; HIV/AIDS prevention, education and testing; and neighborhood-based homes for people with developmental disabilities. Each program, regardless of its focus, labors under the shared agency mission to “create positive change in the lives of individuals and communities through a ministry of service.” Last year, Volunteers of America of Kentucky served more than 8,000 people. We offer many opportunities for you to make a difference in the lives of the individuals we serve and in our community. Visit us at www.voaky.org to learn more.
