Volunteers of America Established in 1896, Volunteers of America of Kentucky is one of the region’s oldest, largest and most diverse human service organizations. Today, Volunteers of America of Kentucky provides shelter for families who are homeless; residential substance abuse treatment; housing for seniors with low-incomes, people with mental illness, and women with disabilities; eviction prevention; employment-focused programs for veterans; care coordination for people with HIV/AIDS; HIV/AIDS prevention, education and testing; and neighborhood-based homes for people with developmental disabilities. Each program, regardless of its focus, labors under the shared agency mission to “create positive change in the lives of individuals and communities through a ministry of service.” Last year, Volunteers of America of Kentucky served more than 8,000 people. We offer many opportunities for you to make a difference in the lives of the individuals we serve and in our community. Visit us at www.voaky.org to learn more.
